Arctic Stories changes name to Lillstålka

Arctic Stories is becoming Lillstålka.

The name change marks a new chapter as I move from operating as a sole trader to running a Swedish limited company, Lillstålka AB.

The new name has a personal story. Lillstålka is my nickname and a playful nod to my father’s Sámi design company, Stoorstålka. “Stoor” means big and “lill” means little, so Lillstålka means, essentially, “Little Stålka.”

Through Lillstålka, I will continue to offer similar services and experiences. You will still be able to join me, Juhán Niila Stålka, for joik and storytelling, sharing stories, traditions and perspectives from Sámi culture.

Thank you to everyone who has joined an experience, listened to a joik or shared a story along the way. I look forward to welcoming familiar faces and new guests under the name Lillstålka.
